Volunteer Spotlight: Tom Williams

Tom is a self-proclaimed "old retired guy" who spends a lot of his free time giving back to his community. In addition to volunteering and taking care of their pets, Tom and his wife have planted several thousand trees over the last 20 years on property they converted into a prairie. Tom serves nutritious after-school meals to kids at Harshman Middle School and IPS 15. "The kids are very eager to help and very excited about the food – especially chicken noodle soup and the chicken pot pies," he says.tomHow did you first hear about The Patachou Foundation?Having lunch at the Patachou in Carmel, I saw a flyer describing The Patachou Foundation plan.What do you love most about volunteering with The Patachou Foundation?Just knowing I’m a small part of bringing a healthy meal to a child that needs it and working with the TPF staff and volunteers.What’s your favorite memory or story from volunteering with The Patachou Foundation?At the end of a shift at IPS 15, a little girl came over and said, “I made this for you.” She had made me a beaded bracelet – made my day!
