Food Fellowship Is in Full Swing
Our Food Fellows will come away from this paid summer program with a deeper understanding of our food system and practical skills in growing food, culinary arts, career readiness, and so much more.
Here’s a quick sneak peek at some of the work they’ve been doing on the farm and in the kitchen:
Through a combination of virtual and hands-on learning (gloves and masks on too!), our Fellows have been busy fermenting, planting, and harvesting their way through summer.
Our Program Director Lade Akande has been with them every step of the way teaching career-readiness and job-seeking skills, communication techniques, along with a good dose of yoga and stretching.
Food Fellows have been learning transferable skills in all facets of our food system from seasoned professionals like our Foundation Coffee Company manager, Gya Torres Cruz.
They’re also helping to build a new micro-farm at The Patachou Foundation headquarters.
